Environmental Changes and Impacts on Human Health 2012

The Principality of Monaco hosts Environmental Changes and Impacts on Human Health 2012 on Friday March 23, an event jointly organised by the the Institut Pasteur, the Monaco Scientific Centre and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

The organisers note: “Environmental change brings new threats to humanity. Urbanisation, the movement of persons and property, migration and climate change promote the proliferation of diseases, both known and new, which may suddenly turn into a global epidemic…The purpose of this symposium is to address the need for an integrated vision of health and environmental issues and to set up interdisciplinary dialogue involving researchers in biomedical and social science.”

The subjects addressed will include ‘environmental changes and their health consequences’, including a presentation from Oxford University’s Professor David Rogers, who will be examining the work of EDENext in modelling the emergence of vector-borne diseases in southern Europe.
